Ramadan is a month children look forward to and remember. A puzzle a day is a simple way to talk about what the month means: fasting and prayer, giving and good deeds, the moon and the lanterns, family iftars and the joy of Eid. This guide shows how families and weekend schools use our pack.

What is in the Ramadan and Eid pack

Sixteen word searches: Ramadan, Eid day, the night sky, good deeds, the iftar table, suhoor, at the mosque, giving, lanterns and lights, family time, the holy month, Eid sweets, Eid gifts, dressing up, thankful and moon phases. Eight mazes sit between them.

A puzzle-a-day Ramadan calendar

  1. Print the pack before the month begins.
  2. Number the pages and keep them in a folder or a jar by the door.
  3. Give one puzzle each day, after school or while waiting for iftar.
  4. Talk about one word from the puzzle: what is suhoor, what is zakat?
  5. Save the Eid pages for the last days of the month and Eid morning.

For Islamic schools and weekend classes

Teachers may print copies for their own class. For personal and classroom use: print as many copies as your household or class needs. One puzzle per page makes it easy to hand out a sheet at the end of a lesson or for early finishers.

Words children learn

The word lists include the vocabulary of the month: Ramadan, suhoor, iftar, Quran, mosque, minaret, imam, adhan, wudu, zakat, sadaqah, hilal, Eid Mubarak and more, alongside everyday words like dates, lanterns, family and gifts. Arabic words are written in a common English spelling.

Eid gifts and activity packs

Printed and stapled into small booklets with a new pencil set, the pack makes a simple Eid gift for younger cousins, or an activity for children while adults visit.

How we make every puzzle

Every puzzle in our packs is generated and then checked by computer before it is allowed into a pack. Anything that fails a check is thrown away and replaced.

  • One route per maze

Every maze is a perfect maze, so there is exactly one way through.

  • One solution per sudoku

Each sudoku is solved by computer and kept only if it has one answer.

  • Every word once

Each word-search word is checked to appear exactly once in its grid.

  • Answers included

Every pack ends with a full answer key, in A4 and US Letter.
