A studio service
Spot-the-difference books, counted on the final art.
A spot-the-difference page makes one promise on the page: find eight. We illustrate paired scenes where the differences are planned, placed for the age band and counted on the finished artwork, with an answer key that circles every one.

N° 01What goes in the book
Pairs built for searching.
01
Paired scenes
Two versions of one original illustration placed side by side or one above the other, at the same size and alignment.
02
Planned differences
Each difference chosen by type: something missing, something added, a colour change, a mirror flip, a count change.
03
Difficulty by age
Three or four large differences for preschoolers, ten to fifteen small ones for older children and adults.
04
Themes and a recurring character
Scenes from one world, with a character who appears on every page and changes a little each time.
05
Extra challenges
Count the birds in both pictures, find what only appears once, for a second pass.
06
Answer keys
A small version of the pair with every difference circled, numbered to match.
N° 02The part that goes wrong
Says eight, has seven.
01
Miscounted differences
The stated number is checked on the final artwork, not on the sketch, so changes made during colouring do not add or lose one.
02
Accidental differences
Two versions of a drawing drift apart in small ways. Pairs are produced from one master so only the planned differences exist.
03
Differences in the gutter
Nothing to find sits across the centre fold where it disappears into the binding.
04
Too small to print
Every difference is checked at trim size to make sure it survives printing.
N° 03How it runs
Plan first, artwork after.
01
1. Page plan
We agree the age band, the number of pairs, the differences per pair and the theme, then list the planned differences for every scene before artwork starts.
02
2. Sample pages
Two or three finished pages in the agreed look, so you approve the style and the difficulty before the rest is made.
03
3. Full interior
Every page produced to the plan, with answers or instructions where the format needs them, then one consolidated round of changes.
04
4. Cover and files
Cover design, front matter and print-ready files at your trim size, set to your printer's or platform's template.

N° 05Questions
The answers we give most often.
- How many differences should each pair have?
- As a working guide, three to five for preschoolers, six to ten for early primary and ten to fifteen for older children and adults. The number is fixed per section in the page plan and printed on the page.
- Do you make spot-the-difference books for adults?
- Yes. Adult books use detailed scenes with many small differences, printed one pair per spread so the detail survives.
- How do you make sure the count is right?
- The pairs are produced from one master illustration, so only the planned differences exist, and the count is checked on the final artwork before the answer keys are made.
- Can it be printed through Amazon KDP?
- Yes. It is a standard paperback. Colour interiors cost more to print than black and white; both work for this format.
- Do I own the scenes?
- Yes, with full commercial rights and the source files.
