A studio service

Large-print puzzle books, laid out again, not enlarged.

A large-print puzzle book is not a normal book printed bigger. Grids, type, spacing and contrast are rebuilt so the page is comfortable for eyes and hands that find small print hard. We design large-print word search, crossword, sudoku, maze and coloring books for older adults, with the themes they recognise.

N° 01What goes in the book

Familiar puzzles, comfortable pages.

01

Large-print word searches

Smaller grids with bigger letters, wider spacing and word lists in large type beside the grid.

02

Large-print crosswords

Big squares, clues set large on the same spread, numbering that stays legible.

03

Large-print sudoku and number puzzles

One or two grids per page with cells big enough for pencil notes.

04

Mazes, spot the difference and dot-to-dot

Bold lines and clear contrast, one puzzle per page.

05

Coloring pages

Simple, open line art between the puzzles, with wide areas and thick outlines.

06

Themes that land

Gardens, classic cars, kitchens, travel, music, decades, chosen for the readers who will hold the book.

N° 02The part that goes wrong

Enlarging a page is not large print.

01

A photocopy enlargement

Scaling a standard page keeps the same number of items and makes the book huge. Large print means fewer items per page, rebuilt at a readable size.

02

Low contrast

Grey type on cream, or thin lines, defeat the purpose. Type is black and heavy, lines are bold, paper is light.

03

Glare and binding

Matte paper and a binding that lies flat are print choices worth asking your printer for; we set the files to them.

04

Claims about the mind

We do not print claims that puzzles improve memory or treat any condition. The book is described as what it is: puzzles in a comfortable size.

N° 03How it runs

Plan first, artwork after.

01

1. Page plan

We agree the puzzle types, the type and grid sizes, the themes and the trim size, then list every puzzle before building the grids.

02

2. Sample pages

Two or three finished pages in the agreed look, so you approve the style and the difficulty before the rest is made.

03

3. Full interior

Every page produced to the plan, with answers or instructions where the format needs them, then one consolidated round of changes.

04

4. Cover and files

Cover design, front matter and print-ready files at your trim size, set to your printer's or platform's template.

N° 05Questions

The answers we give most often.

What type size counts as large print?
Publishing bodies commonly describe large print as 16 point or larger, with 18 point often used for readers with low vision. We agree the size with you and set grids to match it.
Do you make books for care homes or activity coordinators?
Yes. Books for group settings often use the biggest type and the most familiar themes. We design the book; we make no claims about its effect on any condition.
Can you convert my existing puzzle book to large print?
Yes. Puzzles are re-laid at the new size, which usually means fewer per page and more pages overall, and the files are re-set to the new trim.
Can it be printed through Amazon KDP?
Yes. Large-print books are standard paperbacks at a larger trim size, often 8.5 x 11 inches, and we set the files to KDP's template or your printer's.
Do I own the puzzles?
Yes, with full commercial rights and the source files.
